Gemma is my over achieving child, the last daughter out of my favorite boy Ch Sunnyrain Designated Hitter aka Ozzy. She was special from the moment she was born, the turn of her head, the chunky beautifully marked puppy grew into a smart outgoing girl.
Thanks to Melissa Springer and Mike Brown for assisting me with Gemma as a youngster. At the time she was born, my Mother was ill and I knew I would have little time for her so Missy and Mike took her, loved her, socialized and trained her. They did such a great job that Missy and I were both able to show her in the conformation ring with nary a bump in her ring performance. On numerous occasions I would show her in bred -by just to have Missy take her in Winners class. While I was showing another dog I would be beaten by my own dog! Ha Ha! It has truly been a winning combination and a formula we have adhered too with other pups.
Gemma completed her AKC championship from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class, but points and majors were supplied by both Missy and myself, Gemma truly has two families. She is the only dog I know that has sleepovers when we are traveling in the RVs—Gemma is also training in agility. Missy has pre-trained her and she loves to perform. She will also be working on her Rally titles and most importantly she will be herding…I have found that I love it and I think she will too!Gemma has one litter to date sired by none other than the 2013 Winners Dog at the USASA National, our very own Ch Snowbelt Copy That!
